It's a bit of a claim to say that this flatbread can change your life, but it's true! If you switch out your regular white or wheat flour bread for this whole grain/seed flatbread, you can stabilize your blood sugar, reduce cravings, and stay full and satisfied for hours! I make avocado toast with a protein source most mornings with it and it's so tasty and satisfying, and stays with me for hours. When I'm in a hurry, I slather peanut butter on it and call it good. Here's the recipe along with a couple of instructional videos to make it really easy! Let me know if you try it!
HERE’S THE RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 350°
To a large bowl, add:
•1 1/2 c. Rolled oats
• 1 c. Sunflower seeds
• 1/2 c. Pepitas
• 1/4 c. Golden flax seeds
• 1/4 c. Chia seeds
• 1/4 c. Psyllium husks (this is a fiber supplement, and the binder of this bread-it may be in the fiber section of the health foods section of your store. DM me if you need help locating!)
• 1/2 t. Salt
• 3 T. Melted coconut oil or avocado oil
• 2 c. Water
Mix everything all together really well and dump out onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Smoosh it all out to the edges in an even layer. This only takes a couple of minutes. Easy.
Bake for 30 minutes, flip over, using my fancy flipping method (video below), and bake for another 30 minutes. Cool for a few minutes, then cut into 12 pieces. Top with avocado + protein or nut butter or any other open face sandwich items, and revel in the beautiful way you are taking care of your gorgeous body! ✨✨
